We provide all the services you need to complete your mailing
project. Not only can we address and tab your mail piece, we
can also print it, fold it, insert it and stamp it. We provide fast processing for addressing services (often 1 to 2
days) and printing services faster than the industry average. If your project involves inserting our finishing time is equally
impressive. Once all the components are in place your project
will be processed as fast as possible but
only mailed when you say so. The more lead time we have the
better but we can often get projects done within 24 hours. If there is anything you don't see here please inquire. All
questions are welcome!!

- Folding:
- You can fold mailers and newsletters a number of ways.
The most common fold for a flier would be a tri-fold. A
newsletter is more typically folded to 5.5" x 8.5"
or even larger at 8.5" x 11". A newsletter usually
starts out at 11" x 17" before it is folded down
but there are other sizes.
The way you have your mailers folded can make a difference
in overall cost, whether you are talking about processing
or postage. For any letter size mail piece, you are required
to apply tabs (sticky paper or vinyl circles)
to keep the piece closed during processing at the USPS.
Clicking
here will take you to a page that will show some examples
if you scroll down a bit.
In all cases but 1, if when looking at the piece when it
is addressed and it opens on the bottom you will need to
apply two tabs. In some cases when the opening is on the
top you can apply only one tab. Piece width, paper weight
and use of staples all make a difference. We always suggest
to our clients to design a piece (if not done by us) so
the opening is on the top. This isn't always possible but
should be a priority.

- Inkjet Addressing:
- The inkjet printers that are commercially used today bare little
resemblance to what you may have in your office. The technology
for applying the ink is similar but not much else is. The
use of high speed feeders, conveyers, heat lamps, and inline
equipment such as tabbing machines, stamping machines and strappers all make for the ability to process your mailers
quickly and efficiently.
How the ink is applied and processed depends on the material
being used and it all has to do with absorption. Regular
offset paper absorbs ink quickly making it the best for
high speed processing. Paper that is sealed with an aqueous
or varnish coating takes more attention and often heat drying
but will work well also. Other concerns are powder residue
from the printing process, thickness of paper (for ease
of processing) and packing of materials that allow for absorption
of moisture before the printing process begins.
You can also choose to use different colors of ink. Black
ink is clearly used for the majority of addressing needs
but often a teaser message or other item on the outside
of the mailer can be printed in blue for example to set
it apart. Aside from addressing, inkjet machines can be
used for applying a return address, postage and sometimes
graphics.

- Inserting:
- We provide inserting services for invitation size envelopes,
#10 business envelopes, 6" x 9" envelope, 9"
x 12" and larger. We can also provide any other type
of inserting you need such as buck slips, business cards,
samples and envelopes into envelopes. Pieces being printed
for inserting should always be setup so there is enough
clearance for easy inserting. Sometimes this can't be avoided,
such as with invitation mailings because of the preset sizes.
The goal should be to always design for machine inserting
whenever possible. Whether by machine or by hand, we can
process your small or large order quickly.

- Labeling:
- Labeling - you will rarely see labels being used in direct
mail anymore. That is because there has been such an advancement
in technology over the years with high tech inks, infrared
and convection drying, and varying ways of handling that
ensure quality addressing.
That said labels are still needed. There are two types -
Cheshire and Pressure Sensitive. Cheshire labeling is fairly
rare, mostly used for newspaper type print products that
are difficult to process or for use when "piggy back"
labels are to be used (think of labels you can peel off
and apply to an order form). Pressure sensitive are the
"sticky" labels most people would use in their
own office in their own printers. In the direct mail process
when we have pieces that will not accept any type of ink,
or we want to ensure a high quality bar code and print,
we go to "sticky" labels.
At Kama Inc. we can provide our clients with both types
of labels allowing us to process a wide variety of mailer
types. If you are not sure what your mailer will need, please
call use for consultation on your project.

- Reports:
- We know you like having detailed information about your
database, list selections, postage rates and more. Want
to know how many records are in each zip code? No problem.
You would like to buy a list targeted to your 10 largest
areas but not sure which ones they are? No problem. Need
to know exactly what zip codes are in a particular county?
Not a problem. How would you like to know the average income
or average age of a particular area within a zip code? We
can do that too.
If you know what you want but are not sure how to get it,
call us. We more than likely can solve your challenge.
Reports can be printed on your paper choice. The most common
would be on continuous form green bar, 8.5" x 11' or
11" x 17" laser forms or even in pdf format. Tell
us what you need!

them whether the need is for Presort Standard or First Class.
Whether the need is for 1,000 or 100,000 stamped or more,
we can do so automatically. No more licking and hand applying
stamps. Let Kama Inc. take care of the hassle for you.
For first class, we can apply full paid regular Flag stamps
or for both First Class and Presort Standard, we can apply
precanceled stamps.

- Tabbing:
- Tabbing is required when claiming automation letter rates
or whenever you have enclosed an insert into an otherwise
open piece (such as a self-mailer). There are different
requirements depending on how the piece is shaped; the weight
of the paper and where the opening is so let us know what
you have.
We can apply white, clear or frosted tabs depending on the
need. Our default tab is the frosted tab which has an opaque
material allowing for print and lettering to show through
and is also easier to tear open. Sometimes white tabs will
be substituted if the facing of the materials will allow
it (they are less costly and easier to run).
